In 2009, when we first opened our doors as a rental house for digital camera technology, our shelves were nearly empty. This free rein allowed us to take a direct leap into the newest trends of filmmaking equipment. And today, we still employ this same policy. We strive to always cultivate and enhance our own inventory of what´s best while never holding onto what´s forgotten. That´s why we love to invest in our own gear.

Our technology is just as important to us as the people who work with it: you. Our qualified staff of engineers, cameraman, qualified technicians and film lovers are ready and eager to help you perfect your project with their technical expertise, experience and passion.

Our team covers an international range, allowing us to provide our services in German, English, Spanish as well as French. Additionally, we employ one paid intern, whose training will help further their knowledge and experience in the world of digital filmmaking.

Berlin is our focus, and we strongly believe that equipment belongs in your hands, not on the Autobahn. Of course, when a project takes you abroad, the best gear is the gear that flies with you, whether domestic or across the globe.

Because all of this works so well, our standard of quality and service keeps the technology affordable for you.

  • Florian Karnebogen (he/him)

The Voice of SEE YOU RENT, the brain, the control centre. Florian has been part of the SEE YOU RENT family since 2020. After a pleasant interview at Oberbaumeck, we should have realised that SEE YOU RENT would no longer be the same SEE YOU RENT. Flo quickly injected a completely new dynamic into the SEE YOU veins. With his unmistakable manner, his humour and his energy, not only did all callers quickly ask for his advice, but he also cast a spell of good humour over the team. Florian is a trained and IHK-certified dispatcher and has been doing this for 14 years. (First hire: Sennheiser MKH 416). There is little he hasn't seen or scheduled in his day-to-day rental work - be it film, television, Netflix or YouTube. But Flori is also active outside of the media world: he has already toured all corners of Europe, North Africa and Brazil with his band United & Strong. He brews the finest beer in his flat in Prenzlauer Berg and cycles across the borders of faraway countries on his steel frame. Logically, every conversation with him has depth and fills the evening.

His weakness: Hertha BSC, world record in the coaster flipping

  • Alina Koschnike (she/her)

The string-puller, the face, the boss: Alina is the heartbeat of SEE YOU RENT, the linchpin, doorman and psychologist in one. Efficient, precise, fast. She knows what is important and what can wait, she knows what it takes to make your stay at SEE YOU RENT as pleasant as possible and she usually knows how you drink your coffee. She takes care of logistics, internal processes and communication, job follow-ups and, incidentally, the SEE YOU RENT bike rides. She is the first person you see when you enter our shop and also the one who waves after you when you gayly leave. What sounds like a 24/7 job with five hands and three heads, Alina manages alone and always with a smile. She herself is a qualified camerawoman who has worked on film and television productions for many years. She knows all the technology, knows how to use it, knows the weak points and the possible alternatives and sometimes she already knows your name, even if it's your first time with us. Her memory is as infinite as her patience. If you have a question, she is always the right person to ask, regardless of the question. She finds her balance on the back of a horse or on the saddle of a bicycle in and around Berlin. Her passport resembles a sticker album from the past, because no culture is foreign to her and no dish is too exotic.

Her weakness: beautiful porcelain, beautiful carbon (in the form of bicycles), beautiful horses

  • Gregor Sawatzki (he/him)

The last remaining universal genius of the rental world. Whether on the phone talking to you, on a Magnum dolly, caught between two ARRI M40s on Easylifts, behind/over/under an Alexa Mini LF with obscure optics from the Ukraine, on the road with an RBB crew in a T5 from Berlin to Tokyo, as a photographer at Martin's wedding or on his mobile phone to feed the SEE YOU RENT insta account with content (=pictures of you on our technology!), his incredibly extensive knowledge is only topped by his urge for all-things new. He is the finger that points the way in which we need to move, the only one who knows every customer personally and, of course, always has a suitable anecdote at the ready. After all that he will still be the one with the steady hands conjuring up the most beautiful latte art for you while you're standing in our shop at 9.00am on a Monday morning having not quite yet digested the weekend apast. If you don't see Gregor at SEE YOU RENT, you won't see him anywhere else either, because he's usually traveling so fast on his bike that he's invisible to the normal eye and he's always the first one up the mountain and the last one to bed on the annual SEE YOU RENT hiking trips.

His weakness: craft beer, cycling, instruments

  • Edgar Aponte (he/him)

Our Lens Doctor, the Pope of Primes - trained by the old masters of Cooke and Zeiss, Edgar speaks the language of lenses. Calibration, care, repair, cleaning, all from a single source, his hand or hands. No matter which tool, grease or screws, Edgar puts the finishing touches or the last centimetre to your desired prime set so that every one of your pictures is on point. His memory works like a library - every book is a thought or experience. Neatly organised, he knows where every book is and can relive a memory at the drop of a hat - be it the tropical smell of his grandparents' garden in Venezuela or the fine scratch on the 50mm Cooke S4i. Outside of SEE YOU RENT, Edgar also devotes himself to books and writing. As the author of several short stories, he knows how to handle words, which you can not only read in his works - but also listen to in his podcast Dimepelis. Unfortunately solo español.

His weakness: cocktails, books and the good life

  • Jayden Bailey (he/him)

Our pearl from down under, the lighting brain, the wordsmith: After a short time at SEE YOU RENT, Jayden took the lighting department under his wing and cleaned it up right away. In addition to a clear structure, organisation and order, it is above all his inimitable way of dealing with people that always gives them the feeling that everything will end up right as rain -this is what sets him apart. And he never just scratches the surface, Jayden listens to you carefully and remembers things. He always finds the right words - be it at the Prep, on the phone or over a beer in the evening. He's the kind of person you want to have in your Brennball team and you can't miss him at any birthday party. The discipline with which he approaches his life can be seen in his strict diet - no carbs, baby. And the fact that he is still a bon vivant is proven by a marathon weekend of dancing in his favourite Berlin club.

    His weakness: gambling, raves, volleyball

  • Martin Diebel (he/him)

The gut feeling of SEE YOU RENT, the visionary, El Padre, because it all started with him, without him there would be no SEE YOU RENT. Martin worked successfully as a stock footage photographer and with his Canon 5D MKII not only had his work featured in various newspapers, magazines, billboards or even on a book cover, but also quickly recognised the new era of moving images in the SLR sector. After that, things moved quickly: from the photo studio in Schöneberg, via the C300 MKI and RED Scarlett, to Friedrichshain in Rotherstraße, to the first Alexa Mini and a set of Cooke S4s. The team grew year by year along side the expanding pool of equipment; most of which have stood the test of time and simply held on for the ride. Martin has now perfected the purchase of technology. With his ears at the ACs‘ regulars’ tables and his eyes on the USED GEAR pages of the internet, it usually happens very quickly and the packages pile up on his desk. Be it a set of rare primes or an inconspicuous small part that is still missing for a prep. Or Lego, but that probably doesn't have much to do with SEE YOU RENT. Away from the SY cosmos, Martin knows how to live: surrounded by his family, he enjoys escaping into nature or forgetting the time with a bottle of good red wine and a record. For example, that of his old band, with whom he toured with Jimmy Eat World 20 years ago.

His weakness: Italian red wine, former rock star, DIY

  • Nicholas Dobers (he/him)

Mr Swiss-Army-Knife, our all-rounder for all situations and circumstances. Nick will help you with the camera as well as with audio and lighting issues. He has gained set experience on TV and film sets, but he has also been at home in the rental world for a long time, so no matter whether you are standing in our shop or on set and don't really know what to do, Nick will show you the way. Whether camping in Kamchatka, climbing a 5,000 meter peak in Africa or dancing the night away at a three-day rave - he's at the start and looks good doing it. A person you want to be around. He has that certain courageous touch of craziness: Sci-fi sunglasses, neon shirt, perm, 80s tracksuit top. Everything must, nothing can. And when it comes to the infamous horse stealing, Nick is already ready for the robber's ladder at the fence.

His weakness: football shirts, bouldering, Ski Aggu

  • Emanuel Berthé (he/him)

Our rental dinosaur: Emanuel has been enriching SEE YOU RENT since 2012. There's probably nothing he hasn't already seen or experienced in the (rental) world. In another universe, he would probably be a teacher now, because few people explain things as well and clearly as he does. As he can still regularly be found on set himself, he knows the subtle differences between technical sets in the rental and technical sets on set. He always has new equipment on his radar and knows how to use it before we've even taken it out of the box. Above all, his inner calm, friendly manner and patience make Emanuel a pillar of SEE YOU RENT - and not only do you benefit from this, but so do we. It's difficult to describe Emanuel's background and character in just a few words, but if you were to try, it would probably be like this: Bitterfeld, Mali, German army, Leukemia, cats, gym, early riser, Dwayne the Rock Johnson. Cheerleading has played and continues to play a major role in Emanuel's life. This is not the only reason why he is an absolute team player and reliable friend.

  • Patrick Piesik (he/him)

The gimbal master! From the Pilotfly, DJI Ronin 1, Tilta Gravity and Freefly Mōvi M15 to the latest generation of professional gimbal systems, Patrick knows them all. He can balance your set in no time at all and is also happy to join deep-tech talk sessions, where he shines with his in-depth knowledge of sensors, data containers and image scales. Funnily enough, he regularly knows which new camera models will be released before they are even announced. We prefer not to ask, but are happy to accept it. If you don't see Patrick with us, you'll find him in the skatepark - either on the blades, behind the camera or after which in an exclusive sneaker store. There was a time when Patrick had more than 300 (in words: three hundred) pairs of trainers in his wardrobe. Equally unforgettable: The DIY rig he printed himself, which connected eight iPhones and made him the undisputed Pokemon Go king of Hellersdorf for years.

His weakness: 300PS, inline skates, pumps

  • Moritz Uhmann (he/him)

Our superpower. Our joker. Our Portra 400. Moritz has the complete inventory of SEE YOU RENT in his head and will find the missing piece of the puzzle in seconds - no matter how tiny or hidden - to make your set more efficient, more variable or simply more beautiful. Technically adept, experienced on set and always charming and good-looking, he immediately understands what is important to you. In his 13 years of rental experience, he's still waiting for the one problem he can't solve...and he'll be waiting forever. Around his neck hangs not only a gold chain, but also a camera. Analogue, of course. As the founder of the Uhmann style, he has found his own aesthetic and knows how to capture the right moment. Moritz is often more of an observer, always forming his own picture first before reacting in a well-founded and clever way. But he is also usually the last person to leave the bar. Open to everything that is good, Moritz's spectrum ranges from Kindl and Kettwurst to Möet and Moules Frites.

His weakness: corner pubs, analogue photography, going to the cinema three times a week

  • Anna Zobnina (she/her)

As a former producer, Anna always has an eye on the big picture, so to speak. From the idea to the finished product, she knows every step and, of course, the associated pitfalls. With her warm manner, she quickly picks you up and ensures a relaxed atmosphere during your stay with us. And even if your camera setup seems to be unriggable, she will find a way to make it fit perfectly to your wishes. Among the five languages she speaks, there is guaranteed to be one for you and her extremely wide-ranging taste in music ensures to expand your horizon. Politically comitted and active - she always has half an ear to the news and a full heart for her family and friends. She is the one who stands up when someone needs help. Quick-witted and funny, she enriches every conversation and even if you need someone to talk to, she takes the time to listen.

  • Sebastian Surzbecher (he/him)

Sebastian has a special gift for creating an atmosphere that makes you want to linger. With his charm, humour and technical expertise, he transforms even the most stressful prep into a relaxed day. With a song or a cheeky saying on his lips, he brings the sunshine into our shop, even during the long, dark Berlin winters. Sebastian's professional career has been an adventure: what began with an apprenticeship at BSR ended up in rental, where he has now been at home for many years. Most people know Sebastian from the mushroom podcast in Germany - namely: der Pilzpodcast - with which he is not only successful, but which he lives through and through. When he collects Morels, Chanterelles or Boletes, the team is happy because he's so good at it that there's enough for everyone. Whether it's mushroom picking, a bike tour or simply forest bathing - pack Sebastian and have fun.

His weakness: very short trousers, basketball, Uckermark

  • Mish Klares (he/him)

Probably the best-known face of SEE YOU RENT. Why? Quite simply, at home on the film/advertising/music video sets of this world, he brings the most set experience to the team. And you can tell: Mish is an uncompromisingly practical guy. There's no department he doesn't know his way around: lighting and grip, is where you'll meet him during your time with us, but beaware for a lucky few you might spot him in camera. With his positive nature and seemingly inexhaustible physicality, he is not only a wonderful colleague, but also actively helps every production with a smile. Mish speaks four languages, is an absolute animal lover and is extremely talented artistically, so he didn't miss the opportunity to draw his latest tattoos himself. In general, you could say that Mish doesn't fit into any mould - many want to, but few succeed.

His weakness: obscure humour in words & pictures, metal, bouldering

  • Helge Hoppe (he/him)

The giant of the dune, the giant of the beach, our No. 2 in the dispo but the No. 1 on deck. He will help you draw up your equipment list and then analyse the latest cinema releases with you. And he does it in such a friendly and honest way that you won't know exactly where you've landed and what any of this has to do with a Bremen fishing boat. Because that's where Helge comes from, not from the boat, but from Bremen, but don't worry, he'll tell you that again. Helge has already realised several short films as a director, but also got to know the film industry from a technical perspective - in rental. Open, friendly and communicative, he will prepare your technical offer in the shortest possible time - without getting stressed. Before starting work, he likes to take a dip in the swimming pool and after work he likes to moisten his throat. You can get the boy away from the water, but not the water away from the boy, or something.

  • Roman Haenicke (he/him)

Mr See You Customs. Roman is not only a gifted 1st AC and cameraman, but has also mastered the craft of custom solutions and repairs. Whether it's a clever cable, a 3D printed monitor plate or a CNC-milled one-off - Roman designs it, manufactures it, optimises it and ultimately collects the fame for it on Instagram. Absolutely deserved. If you hear him swearing in his workshop, you know everything is fine and he's close to a solution, only if he gets really loud, someone has stolen his favourite screwdriver again. Roman's humour is inimitable - dark, dry, crude, you have to want it and you always want it, because as the saying goes, hard shell, soft core, he is probably the most reliable person on the planet. He would never let you down. Moving from the 4th floor of Charlottenburg to the 5th floor of Pankow in the rain, sleet showers and headwinds? He'll grumble, but he'll also be the first to grab the washing machine. What he won't grab are raspberries, because he's never eaten them, unlike his first strawberry two years ago.

His weakness: black hoodie(s), 3D printed cForce tools

  • Dillon Ritchie (he/him)

What is a brewer from Vermont, USA, doing at SEE YOU RENT, you ask? To be honest, we don't really know either, but we're all the happier for it. Born between Hop fields and Creameries in the north-east of the USA, the trained electrician eventually ended up in Berlin, where he not only successfully completed a film degree but also got married. After graduating, he worked in the technical warehouse at his university, but only when he wasn't behind the camera. So: Rental experience check, set experience check, a dream combination. You can meet Dillon after 6 pm at the beer fridge and before that in the lighting department, where he will be at your side with his unbeatable US-style service orientation and uncompromising friendliness. Advising or carrying steel, the choice is yours. By the way, his brother skis professionally for the US ski team.
