The Zeiss High Speeds are probably the most popular sets in the industry: versatile use, fast aperture, compact size - all reliable factors for a guaranteed successful look. However, there were often limitations: a compact design with two focus motors, when used in a Steadicam set-up or a crane, when using clamped matte boxes or damage if the torque of a focus motor was too high. But that is now a thing of the past: TLS has placed the non-reproducible glass in a completely new housing - and thus created the required industry standard.
The iris scale and gear wheel are now located on the holder side of the focus, so that the arrangement corresponds to standard practice. The front diameter is also fixed so that telescoping or blocking the focus is no longer necessary when using a matte box. The housing remains small and compact with a front diameter of 95 mm for all six primes.
