HUGOs are small, fast, lightweight and have a wide-angle close focus of 0.3m. Building on the popularity of the Leitz M 0.8 series, HUGOs have the same distinctive Leica M optics with their strong colouring and impressive flares. However, they feature a completely new body design with LPL mount that equals the durability and flexibility of the existing Leitz lenses. They were named after the Leica camera engineer Hugo Wehrenfennig.
