The first S35 version of the Super Speed optics from ZEISS are fast, luminous vintage optics made in Germany.
They are very sharp even at full aperture, have medium contrast, excellent close focus, beautiful lens flares and, as a bonus, virtually no focus breathing. Fantastic lenses with a creamy soft look that cannot be copied – literally, because some of the materials used in the manufacture of the glass are no longer allowed to be used! A rental classic that rightly features on many DOP lists.
